Valmagne Abbey Tango Marathon

In 2022, Tang’Hérault Montpellier celebrated its 20th anniversary with a memorable 3-day Tango Marathon set in the stunning Valmagne Abbey. Built in the 12th century and located near the Bassin de Thau, between Montpellier and Beziers, this remarkable site is one of the finest Cistercian monuments in France.

Since then, we have had the privilege of returning each year, as the owners graciously open this exceptional venue to host our Tango Marathon on the first weekend of October.

For the occasion, a 270 m² wooden dance floor is installed inside the abbey church, enhanced by professional sound and lighting to create an unforgettable atmosphere. A dedicated neo tango room is also fully equipped with its own dance floor, sound, and lighting.

The event brings together hundreds of dancers from around the world, along with renowned international DJs.

Traditional

Olga, from Latvia, has been a tango DJ since 2009 and has played at many marathons and encuentros across Europe. Her style is traditional, warm, and smooth, creating an environment where dancers feel connected and comfortable. She always aims to build a good musical flow, sometimes gentle, sometimes playful, sometimes with a little spice. My greatest pleasure is seeing the whole room dancing together in harmony.
